Our leadership team has extensive and diverse leadership experience in trustee, fund and debt market services and agency services.
Matt is responsible for Perpetual’s growth strategy, focused on the Perpetual Corporate Trust and Perpetual Private businesses, for Singapore, APAC and cross border into Australia. Matt will be based in Singapore.
Matt worked in Senior Sales and Relationship Management roles in Perpetual Corporate Trust and Singapore from 2007 to 2017, including three years in Singapore. In 2017 Matt joined TMF Group as Regional Director - Head of Sales Asia Pacific TMF based in Singapore, where he led a team of 40+ sales and client management professionals across 10 countries including Singapore, Hong Kong, China, India, Japan, Malaysia, Australia, Indonesia and Thailand, plus sales responsibilities for the Korea, Taiwan, Vietnam and Philippines markets.
Matt is an Admitted Solicitor in NSW and has a Bachelor of Business Administration, Bachelor of Law and Bachelor of International Business.
Li Choo is a Fellow Chartered Accountant, a Certified Financial Planner, a Registered Trust and Estate Practitioner and a member of the Society of Estate and Trust Practitioners (STEP).
She started her career in audit in KPMG and thereafter joined British and Malayan Trustees Limited (“BMT”) as one of the key management executives, responsible for finance, regulatory reporting, client relationship and business development and corporate secretariat matters. BMT is Singapore’s oldest trust company and is listed on the main board of the Singapore Exchange.
Since 2009, she has been appointed as the country head of the Singapore office. Her area of focus includes corporate trust matters, structured finance, private wealth management, fund management services, succession planning and trusts. She is responsible and accountable for the continuing growth of the Singapore business, with key focus on managing strategic directions, operations and cross border business opportunities involving establishment and launch of funds and trusts. She also has oversight on the finance, compliance and risk management activities of the business.
She is a respected trust practitioner, having written and spoken on corporate trust related matters including REITs, Bonds and Funds. She has garnered over more than 20 years of experience in corporate and private trust matters including REIT IPO listings, debt listings and issuances, corporate restructuring, fund launches and private trust setups. She is also a qualified resident manager for the Singapore trustee business.
Benjamin is our Vice President, Finance and Operations, Singapore. He is a Chartered Accountant with the Institute of Singapore Chartered Accountants and is responsible for all financial and operational matters pertaining to the Singapore office, including client service, financial compliance, financial analysis, providing support on company secretarial matters and liaison with regulators on financial matters.
Prior to joining Perpetual, Ben was Head of Finance at one of Singapore’s largest brokerage firms, and also had 7 years audit experience at another large local firm.
Joey is responsible for leading a team of professionals who are responsible for client onboarding, on-going client service and relationships as well as all transaction activities. He is also responsible for ensuring compliance with Perpetual’s corporate trustee obligations undertaken for new and existing client mandates. He and his team manage a portfolio of clients comprising S-REITs, private trusts and funds.
Prior to joining Perpetual, Joey was the chief executive officer of the REIT Manager of a S-REIT, where he was responsible for the development and implementation of strategic, financial, investment, risk-management, compliance, operational and investor relations plans and activities. Prior to this, he was involved in corporate finance advisory, financial and management accounting, and audit. He has over 18 years of financial services experience.
Joey is a qualified Chartered Accountant of Singapore and has a Bachelor degree in accountancy and MBA from the Imperial College Business School, United Kingdom.
Gary is responsible for the legal, compliance and risk management functions in Singapore.
His experience in financial services includes roles covering legal, compliance and operational risk control in banking, wealth management and trust company business. Prior to joining Perpetual in 2018, Gary was with UBS where he was legal counsel for the bank and trust company business, as well as working in compliance and operational risk control. Gary holds a Bachelors degree in Law from the University of Glasgow and is a member of the Law Society of Scotland, with experience in various jurisdictions.
